Catalog of books and list of furniture, 1845-ca.1865, ca.1865 (bulk).

A list of books by title, divided into several categories: books on shelves, novels, poets, books in fancy binding, old books from Jones library, old books packed in boxes. Volume also includes a room-by-room inventory of furniture. The rooms mentioned are a reception room, two parlors, dining room, lower and upper halls, three bedrooms, a guest chamber, two servants' rooms, and a bathroom. A list of bric-a-brac and other items is included. At the end of the volume are accounts about Copper Falls Mine stocks, dated 1845-1846. Tucked into the volume is a letter from Mrs. Jones to her son, urging him to accept a Christian life and to think about what he will do with his estate.

Jones, De Garmo, Mrs.

Mrs. Jones was the widow of De Garmo Jones. He was born in Albany, New York, in 1787, and died in Detroit, Michigan, in 1846. Jones was a leading businessman in Detroit, served as the city's mayor, and was a state senator. The Joneses had at least one son.
